It was shocking how light the Swatch Moonswatch was at 29 grams.
This started a new mission to find a lighter digital watch.
Casio W93H-1AV
Here are some of the lightest digital watches.
MING LW.01 Manual 8.8 g. This is a mechanical watch but at 8.8 g is was worth mentioning. So is the price. $21,625.
Casio F91W 21 g. One of the best watches ever made for $23. I bought a gold one for $7 at Wal-mart one time.
Casio F105W 21 g. Excellent backlight. $23.
Casio CA-53W 25 g. Calculator watch. $30.
Casio W94H 26 g. The W93H's close relative $30.
Casio W93H 27 g. Someone somewhere suggested this watch $30.
Casio W93H-1av Backlight
The W93H is impressive.
It is light. Barely noticable day to day and playing sports.
It is easy to read. The LED segments are thick and have good contrast. The domed plastic crystal magnifies the display.
The electroluminescent backlight lights up the numbers instead of the background.
It has a lot of features.
12/24 hour format.
Beep on hour.
Auto light.
Timer with alarm.
Stopwatch has a 5 second countdown sequence that beeps on the last 3
seconds with a different Olympic style starting sound and target timer alert.
Single alarm.
Dual time mode shows the travel time zone and the
home time zone on the same screen.
Casio W93H-1AV Stopwatch Olympic Style Countdown Timer
This watch is so good I worried it might sell out or [gasp] be discontinued. So I bought a spare. I gave the spare to a friend and ordered a replacement. Guess what? Amazon was sold out! Casio.com - sold out. Casio.co.jp - sold out. ebay - sold out. I knew this was going to happen.
Casio Dual Time Mode - Home Time Zone is on Top
I sent a query to Casio asking about the W93H. They responded immediately.
Thank you for contacting Casio America.

Then my greatest fear. The watch band broke. I managed to find some on casioparts.com.
