WARNING: NEVER GROUND YOURSELF TO THE EARTH IF THERE IS ANY CHANCE OF LIGHTNING. FOR EXAMPLE, WALKING BAREFOOT, SWIMMING, OR USING ANY GROUNDING PRODUCT WHEN LIGHTNING IS POSSIBLE COULD BE HAZARDOUS. THE BEST PLACE TO BE IN A LIGHTNING STORM IS INDOORS AND DISCONNECTED FROM THE EARTH. EVEN LIGHTNING FAR AWAY COULD BE HAZARDOUS.
In the first image, the multimeter shows 0.00. The meter is set to measure 200 Milliamperes (mA) DC. The negative probe is stuck into the ground. The positive probe is laying on top of the multimeter. My foot is sitting on wet grass in the yard.
In the second image, the positive probe is in my hand between my fingers. The meter shows 31.7 mA. 31.7mA is how much current is running through my body from the earth.
At the time, I was having some plantar fascitis or soreness on the bottom of my feet. So I tried to ground myself to see if it would help. It might be my imagination, but I thought it helped.
According to WebMD some think grounding, also known as vitamin G or electronic nutrition, fixes an electron deficiency syndrome. It is thought to lower inflammation, ease stress, and improve sleep.
I like to sit on a chair in the yard barefoot for a few minutes and enjoy the earth's free electrical therapy session. Maybe on the next beach outing lie on the sand instead of a towel.
